District Administration Thoubal appeals

The District Administration Thoubal appealed to all concerned not to open further relief camps in the district until the capacity of the existing ones are full for efficient functioning of these camps.
The District Administration Thoubal made the above appeal while inspecting the relief camp of Khoirom Junior High School Yairipok which is opened through the initiatives of the Youth Development Committee,
Khoirom.
Today's visit was carried out by the District Administration Thoubal team led by Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash as a part of the ongoing inspection drive to check the condition of relief camps opened in Thoubal district to shelter numerous people who have been displaced by the recent communal violence in the State.
Speaking in connection with the inspection visit, Thoubal DC informed that there are ten relief camps in the district at present which have been recognised by the District Administration.
The District Administration Thoubal has been taking up all possible measures to address the needs and facilities of these camps prioritising on the mental and physical well-being of the inmates particularly children, he added.
To streamline the functioning of these centres and supply of essential items, he appealed to all concerned not to open further relief centres until the capacity of the existing recognised camps are full.
