Imphal East District Magistrate Khumanthem Diana has appealed to the public to not venture out of their respective houses during the curfew period.
In a public appeal, the District Magistrate reasoned that venturing out during the curfew hours may lead to unnecessary confrontation with the security forces deployed for the safety and security of the public.
She further appealed to the public to not risk themselves from the unwanted elements who want to create tension and -violence.
Saying that lmphal East district administration is leaving no stone unturned to maintain law and order by restoring peace, Diana said that they are trying hard to secure the district by deploying adequate district police and Central forces in violence.

She further said that the curfew hours have been, relaxing steadily to facilitate general public to purchase essential items including medicines and food supplies.
Saying that the unfortunate incident of May 3 and the fol-lowing few days has rendered many people homeless and not less than 12000 persons are in various relief camps operational in Imphal East alone, Kh Diana said that the district administration shared the grievances of the people who got injured or lost properties in the violence.
She also expressed her condolence to the families who have lost their members in the incident.
