ERDO urges for safe passage to transporters

Economic & Resource De-velopment Organisation (ERDO) has appealed to the authority concerned, the government in particular, to en-sure that the trucks carrying goods and stuck near Kangpokpi, are safely brought to the state's capital at the earliest.
Speaking at a joint press meet held with different Imphal-based traders at Manipur Press Club here Saturday, ERDO general secretary N Shanta informed that around 200 trucks carrying food items, medicines and essential commodities are stuck along the NH-2 near at Kangpokpi town.
While stating that the commis-sioner and director of CAF&PD have been urged to bring in the trucks as soon as possible, the general secretary disclosed that as on Saturday stock of 35/40 items have been exhausted.
Further pointing out that it is not possible for the trucks to make the U-turn, he also urged all concerned not to block the trucks in the interest of the innocent people and reiterated the appeal to the government to pro-vide adequate security and escort the trucks to Imphal.
