RRCC, IBSA post contrasting wins in MNCA Plate Tournament

RRCC-Churachandpur trounced THAU-Thangmeiband by 10 wickets as IBSA-Yumnam Leikai sealed a narrow 3-run win over KCDO in today's matches of the ongoing 7th MN C A Plate Tournament.
At Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, RRCC bowled out THAU for a paltry total of 38 runs in 1.3.4 overs and chased down the target with no loss within 4.4 overs for the third victory in four Group A matches.
Letkhotinthang inflicted early damage to THAU who won the toss and opted to bat first by reducing them to 23 for 3 in 7.5 overs removing the top order batters cheaply.
THAU further slumped to 35/5 in 11 overs with Pankaj Hazarika bowling out Malesh Kumar Ngangba and Rajkumar Thapa got run out before facing a ball in the 12th over.
Haojalen Kipgen then ripped apart the THAU line up by removing all four batters on ducks including three in the 12th over.
Haojalen then claimed his fourth wicket in the form of Nicholas P (0) to end THAU innings at 38 in 13.4 overs.
Needing 39 for the win, the opening pair of RRCC-Louriyam Elan (10 off 14 balls) and Haojalen Kipgen (30 off 14 balls, 4x4, 1x6) finished off the chase in 4.4 overs by gathering 42 runs.
Haojalen Kipgen of THAU who shone with both the bat and ball was adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, IBSA beat KCDO by 3 runs in a keenly contested Group B encounter for the third straight victory.
IBSA opted to bat first and stacked up 147 for all wickets down in 25.3 overs and restricted KCDO to 144 in 36.2 overs for the narrow win.
Yengkhom Bhomendro (23), Moirangthem Sunanda (22) and Usham Gunabanta (20) were the main run getters for IBSA today in their innings which saw Andirodic Pukhrambam (3/35), Ziaur Rahaman (3/26) and Mk Amal (2/31) of KCDO bowl exceptionally well.
In the chase, KCDO looked promising but fell to 144 despite Hafiz Imran (33), Rosebel Sapam (20), Bikram Phamdom (20) and Netajit Konsam (18) making significant contributions as IBSA bowlers made a concerted effort to keep things under check.
Karan Prajapati (2/16), Manoj Sahani (2/16), Rajababu (2/16) and Yengkhom Bhomendro (2/25) all picked up two wickets each in this innings to set up the narrow victory.
