Imphal, January 12 2023:
As part of Road Safety Week which commenced on Wednesday, Traffic Control Police Wing Manipur organised a one day training programme on "Proper use of E-Challan Machine" at Dharmsala Hall, Thangal Bazar on Thursday.
The training programme was attended by Traffic Control Police Wing SP Wungpam Kasar, National Information Centre (NIC) joint director M Ikheilen among other traffic police officials and personnel from various districts.
Speaking at the programme, SP (Traffic) Wungpam recounted that chief minister N Biren had launched campaigns for adopting e-Challan system to replace the earlier physical procedures.
However, due to lack of awareness and training among traffic personnel, the rate of use of the new system had been not up to the mark, Wungpam added.
Pointing out that Thursday's training programme was organised in collaboration with NIC with the stated objective to make the traffic personnel of every district aware about e-Challan system, the officer informed that full scale implementation of the new system will facilitate fine levied against traffic rule violator to directly deposit in the government account.
During the training programme, traffic personnel were familiarised on use of e- Challan system, its benefits, penalties against traffic rule violators, etc.
