Imphal, January 12 2023:
The state, which was once divided on ethnic lines due to trust deficit among the communities, is now moving forward towards unity, peace and development under the double engine government of BJP, said BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda.
Speaking at the inaugural function of the party's Booth Pravas campaign held at Khoupum Valley in Nungba assembly constituency on Thursday, Sharda opined that development works should not be politicised as it is not the time to play politics when it comes to public welfare projects.
However, some political parties are still stooping to such low level politics just to gain political mileage and such a mind-set smacks of irresponsible political parties, she said.
On the other hand, BJP has been dedicating its services for the welfare of the public.
The BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been working towards building the relationship between hearts while taking up initiatives for the welfare of the public.
Direct Benefit Transfer is an important step towards abolishing corruption from the system.
As a result, benefits of welfare schemes are reaching far and wide without leakage through middlemen, she explained.
Sharda also spoke on various schemes taken up by the government for the welfare and empowerment of women.
Party workers from Nungba, Tamei and Tamenglong assembly constituencies are participating in the two-day event.
The inaugural function was also attended by Hill Areas Committee chairman MLA Dipu Gangmei and BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president N Nimbus.
Similarly, Social Welfare minister Heikham Dingo stated that people of Manipur now live peacefully because of an abled leader.
Speaking at the inaugural function of 'Ramtnou Phanit' at Nambashi Khullen in Kamjong district on Thursday, Heikham Dingo expressed that Manipur cannot be developed without progress in the hill districts.
Under the able leader of CM N Biren and his vision, the bonding of love between the hills and the valley is strengthening and people should not forget that they can now live peacefully all because of him (Biren), he added.
Dingo assured of ensuring benefits of the development schemes taken up by the department to not only Nambashi Khullen, but also all the remote areas.
Initiatives for setting up Anganwadi centres in areas without such centres will be taken up along with making labour cards, he further assured.
Noting that there are abundant water bodies in Nambashi Khullen suitable for fish farming, he maintained that the fisheries department will look into the potentials and do the needful to benefit people of the area.
The event was also attended by Phungyar MLA Leishiyo Keishing, Kamjong DC, Nambasi Khullen headman and others.
