Imphal, October 19 2022:
SYMROPIA-Churachandpur rode on a treble from substitute T Helsuanpau (Helpau) to crush TRUGPU-Nambol 7-2 in a 2nd AMFA Cup Group B match at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong today.
Having secured 2 points from two drawn matches against KYVO and YOSC, SYMROPIA ran riot today to open their winning account in style today.
They took 20 minutes to find the breakthrough via Immanuel Lalramsiem who also scored another in the 34th minute to complete his brace and doubled the team's advantage.
The Churachandpur side continued to dominate the proceedings and it was Peter Khumrolian scored quick-fired two goals back to back in the 38th and the 39th minute to give his team a comfortable 4-0 lead.
Struggling TRUGPU pulled back a goal via Kinbuanpou Panmei in the 41st minute but SYMROPIA retained their 4-goal cushion at halftime with T Helsuanpau who came in for Mangminlal Mate after 34 minutes opened his account during the added time (45+1') .

The day also witnessed USA beat LYCC-Chandel by 2-1 goals in another Group B match.
The two sides had a cautious start denying incisive runs timely to play out a barren first half.
USA however earned the lead after 61 minutes through Atom Makhon before Shamjetshabam Boy made it 2-0 with a clinical finish in the 68th minute.
LYCC struggled their way back into the game and halved the deficit through SK Bunghong in the 81st minute but their efforts to equalise the margin did not yield any result thereby handing USA a 2-1 win.
