'Punshi Kumhei' bags best production

Imphal, October 19 2022:
The result of 46th Kha Manipur Drama Festival organised jointly by Langmeidong Dramatic Union and Manipur State Kala Akademi, Imphal at Langmeidong Dramatic Union auditorium from October 9 to 18 was declared on Tuesday with Potshangbam Tomba Legacy Theatre, Bishnupur Thiyam Leikai play's Punshi Kumhei' declared winner of the best production along with 13 other awards.
Yumjao Lairembi Dramatic and Cultural Union, Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai's play 'Ima' and Manipur Youths Cultural Organisation, Porompat Thawanthaba Leikai's Mou Mathel' won second best and third best production awards respectively.
Mayengbam Sunil of Potshangbam Tomba Legacy Theatre bagged the best director, best script writer and best actor awards of the festival.
Second best director was won by Yumnam Lairembi & Cultural Union's Th Nabachandra alias Nongju Naba for 'Ima' while directors of Manipur Youths Cultural Organisation Kh Homeshwori (Mou Mathel) and Liberty Theatre Kakching's Uttamkumar Naorem (Sakharam Binder) shared third best director award.
The award for second best script writer was bagged by 'Ima' script writer Mani Yumnam as Yumjao Lairembi Dramatic and Cultural Union actor O Santoshmani and M Barun of The Imphal Theatre, Wangkhei Tokpam Leikai secured the second best and third best actor award respectively.
Yumjao Lairembi Dramatic and Cultural Union actress Rk Romila bagged best actress award, while S Roshni of Manipur Youth's Cultural Organisation and Potshangbam Tomba Legacy Theatre's Damenti Elangbam won second and third best actress award respectively.
Meanwhile, Eastern Manipur Artistes Association, Charangpat director K Bormani won the presidential award, while Basikhong Dramatic Association bagged the jury award.
