AMGSU extends gratitude to CM, others

All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) conveyed gratitude to chief minister N Biren Singh for his immediate intervention and swift action for the rescue of abducted AMGSU Charhajare Unit president Roshan Uprety.
The students' body also thanked Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, DGP P Doungel, IGP (Zone-III), DIG (Range-IV), SP Kangpokpi, OC Kangpokpi, OC Saparmeina, OC Sekmai, 22 Assam Rifles, CRPF, CDO teams from Imphal East, Imphal West and Special Commando for their tireless effort in rescuing Roshan Uprety safe and sound.
AMGSU acknowledged the role and contribution of KSO Sadar Hills, Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi, Sadar Hills Chief Association, Liangmei Naga Council Manipur, Liangmei Naga Students' Union Manipur, Kangleipak Kanba Lup, Viswa Hindu Parishad Manipur Prant, Manipur Gorkha Welfare Union, Bharatiya Gorkha Parishang, Nepali Sahitya Parishad, all the units of AMGSU, JAC, All Manipur Gorkha Ex-servicemen Association, ABVP Manipur, Women Societies, Clubs, general public and well-wishers in securing the safe release of Roshan.
Mention may be made Roshan was on October 16 abducted from Charhajare Bazar by four unidentified persons in broad daylight.
A case was then registered in Gamnom Saparmeina Police Station after which a search operation began by security personnel.
He was found unharmed after three days of abduction near Mangjol village in Kangpokpi district.
Meanwhile, AMGSU appealed to all concerned not to repeat such act in the future stating that gun culture has directly hurt the sentiment of the community.
It also stated that Gorkha is a peace-loving community despite their poor economic background, and they have been living with their neighbours peacefully since time immemorial and always wanted to maintain such a cordial relationship with all communities in the future as well.
