Integrated communication and outreach programme held

A one-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, 8 Saal Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan was organized by Central Bureau of Communication, Regional Office, Imphal at CI College, Bishnupur district, Manipur on October 18 .
According to a statement issued by CBC, Regional Office Imphal, Professor Dr M Mangi Singh, Principal of CI College presided over the event while GA Ghanapriya Devi, Cultural-in-Charge, CBC, Regional Office, Imphal outlined the objectives of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), 8 Saal Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan.
Speaking as resource person, Dr Sanjoy Ahanthem, Assistant Professor, Department of History, CI College, Bishnupur presented an elaborate speech on Indian freedom struggle from 1857 till 1947 .

Kh Dwijendro Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics lauded the Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojana and explained in detail the 'seva' provided in the last 8 years especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Professor Dr M Mangi Singh in his presidential speech recalled various forms of exploitation and discrimination meted out to Indians and Manipuris by the British during colonial period.
He also urged the audience to imbibe the spirit of nationalism and patriotism.
The contributions of the unsung heroes of the Indian freedom struggle from Manipur namely, Pukhrambam Kajao, Hijam Irabot were discussed amongst others.
Later, an Azadi Quest quiz contest was organized and prizes distributed to the winners.
M/S Youth Cultural Artiste and Craft Association, Singjamei presented a drama to the gathering.
All the teaching faculty, staff and students' union of the College also attended the ICOP.
