YWC outclass MPA by 5 wickets in Plate Tournament

YWC (Patsoi) claimed a five-wicket win over MPA (Kakching) in their Group A league match in the MNCA Plate Tournament at Oriental College on Wednesday.
MPA opted to bat first but their batting collapsed like a pack of cards.
They ended up collecting just 64 in 26.1 overs.
In the innings, NKR Luwang (15) and Lucky Elangbam (11) were the only batters who got into double digits.
Daniel Lhunminthang led the YWC bowling attack, snapping three wickets while Sagolsem Mangalsana Meitei and Laishram Yaiphaba Meitei bagged two each, with Nickel Loukrakpam and Thoungamba M accounting for one each.
YWC then needed 13.2 overs to complete the chase courtesy of contributions from Laikhuran Jagat (13), Grison Laitonjam (13), Pritam Laitonham (7 not out), Loukrakpam Sumanta (6), Kosham Kishan (4), Thoungamba (2 not out) and Ashishkumar Wakongthem (2).The side lost five wickets in the chase.
For MPA, Nando Chongtham took two wickets while Johny Athokpam, Suraj Mutum and Chingtham Albish got one each.
Daniel Lhunminthang was adjudged the man of the match for his three-wicket haul in 6.1 overs.
The win propels YWC to fourth place in the Group B standings with four points from three matches while MPA remain at the bottom of the group after suffering their third straight defeat.
