Th Shanti inspects INA Moirang Complex

A team led by Moirang AC MLA, Thongam Shanti today inspected the INA Complex in Moirang.
The construction of mega project INA Moirang Complex with project cost of Rs 12 crore 38 lakh was carried out by Manipur Development Society (MDS) under the sponsorship of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
The MLA was accompanied by W Ibohal, Director, Manipur Tourism Department; MDS Chief Engineer, S Rupkumar and INA Local Advisory Committee convenor, Y Modhu on his visit.
Speaking to media persons.
Th Shanti stated that the inspection was carried out as per the direction of Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
He appreciated the CM for his concern and added that efforts have been made under the visionary leadership of N Biren Singh to make the complex 'World Class'.
"Recently, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also unveiled a 165 feet long National Flag, the tallest in North East India", he added.
In regard to the inspection, the MLA expressed his disappointment over the condition of the underground parking, cafeteria building and dining cum kitchen constructed in INA Complex Moirang and added that the construction work was not equivalent to the cost.
The MLA further asserted that out of the total 15 components of the Mega Project, only 3 components have been executed so far.
W Ibohal informed that for the project INA Moirang Complex, Manipur Tourism Department transferred a sum of Rs 6 crore 19 lakh to MDS in 2010."The project includes the following components- Underground parking & INA Square, P.I of Acoustic Sound Chair in Auditorium, Cafeteria building, Coffee shop, Public Toilet, Pond, RCC bridge, pathway, Dining cum Kitchen, drain, main gate, etc", he added.
Pointing out that only 3 components have been constructed even after 10 years, W Ibohal asserted that the Department would seek a clear report from MDS regarding the Mega Project.
