Imphal, January 11 2023:
Manipur dished out a sublime bowling display and laid the foundation for the batting department to close in on an outright victory against leaders Meghalaya in their Ranji Trophy plate group match at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
The state squad were 12 for 1 in their second innings at stumps on the second day, needing just 17 runs to win when they resume on Thursday.
After Karnajit K fell for a duck, B Rahman (5 not out) and Ronald M (7 not out) steadied the ship as the duo batted 3 overs to collect 12 runs and put Manipur in command at the end of the day.
Earlier, Meghalaya could only muster a meagre total in their second innings in the face of a lethal spell from Manipur's bowlers who wiped out the former's batting order for 91 in 53.1 overs.
Kishan Singha, who scalped six wickets in the opposition's first innings, picked up two more wickets in the Meghalaya's second innings while Rex and Jotin Pheiroijam claimed three wickets each, coupled with one by Bishowrjit.
