SHADOW, OCSAR script comprehensive victories in MNCA Plate Tournament

SHADOW thump YPHU by 5 wickets for third win in Group A competition of the 7th MNCA Plate Tournament as OSCAR crushed MPA by 213 runs in a Group B match today.
YPHU who the toss and elected to bat first at Model Hr Secondary School and Oriental College Ground but were bundled out for a paltry score of 103 runs in 18 overs as Sagatpam Lanchenba grabbed four wickets.
SHADOW then chased down the target in 18.1 overs with five wickets left in the hand.
With Lanchenba (4/12 in 3 overs) leading SHADOW in bowling attack and Guite Khualminlian (2/28 in 4 overs) and Paras Sharma (2/ 18 in 4 overs) assisting, YPHU batters had a torrid time and succumbed to 103 of which 29 runs are extra.
Amrendra Prasad (11), Bishworaj Sharma (13), Irom Sunny (22) and Abdul Kaif (14) were the only batters who managed double digit scores as other batters fell cheaply in regular intervals.
In the chase, Paras Sharma scored an unbeaten 68 off 56 balls to guide SHADOW to winning 106 even as Bishworaj Sharma secure a rare five wicket haul (5/18 in 7 overs).
Paras Sharma who shone with both the ball and bat was adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Zenith Nongmaithem bowled OSCAR to a huge 213 run victory over MPA.
OSCAR, electing to bat first, racked up a staggering total of 259 runs for all wickets down in 38.3 overs and held MPA to 46 riding on Zenith Nongmaithem's prolific bowling performance.
Zenith combined with Boocker Kangjam to reduce MPA to 18 for 4 in 7.1 overs before Zenith clinched a hattrick by removing W Nareshkumar (0) and Nando Chongtham (0) in the last two deliveries of the 8th over and Bimison in the first delivery of the 10th over, to leave MPA further languish at 23 for 7 in 9.1 overs.
Ringku Kangujam, Pawankumar Wahengbam and Pursaraj Nongthem then took care of the tailenders to bowl out MPA for 46 runs within 13.2 overs and ensure OSCAR second win in as many as four matches.
Earlier in OSCAR's innings, Sanjit Thounaojam (36), Nongmaithem Bijendro (40), Ringku Kangujam (37), Sorokhaibam Samson (25); Zenith Nongmaithem (25 not out) and T Santosh (37) played sensibly to take the total past 250 run mark.
Sanjit Thounaojam and Nongmaithem Bijendro gave OSCAR a positive start before Sandeep Nongmaithem undone Sanjit for the first wicket and Khruso got run out on 0 as the scoreboard read 87 in 12.2 overs.
Chingtham Albish then removed Rinku and Bijendro to make it 157 for 4 and went on to claim two more wickets to return with the best bowling figures of 4/39 in 8 overs.
Sandeep Nongmaithem (2/77) and Aristotle Khaidem (2/49) also picked up two wickets each.
Zenith Nongmaithem who added 25 runs and fetched 5 key wickets of MPA was adjudged man of the match.
