Mei Bhagat honoured with Loyalam Public Library Award

Assamese Manipuri writer Meisnam Bhagat commonly known as 'Mei Bhagat' has been honoured with Loyalam Public Library Award for his poetry book titled 'Apaiba Tangoi' .
An award presentation ceremony was organised by Loyalam Public Library, Wangjing at the hall of Manipur Hindi Parishad, Old Assembly Road, here, on Saturday with Nongmaithem Kirankumar as chief guest, Y Indira Devi as president and Moirangthem Rajendro as guest of honour.
The award includes cash, citation and a stole.
A book titled 'Punshi Numidangwairamda Erei' penned by Sarat Salam was also released as a part of the event.
It may be mentioned that Mei Bhagat was born at Leihoupokpi village, Hailakandi in Assam.
He is also a lyricist of All India Radio, Imphal and has won numerous accolades for his poetry books.
Apart from being a life member of Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Assam and Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Meghalaya, he also took active roles in various other literary organisations.
