FCI Foundation Day celebration; Divisional Manager highlights achievements

The 59th Foundation Day celebration of Food Corporation of India (FCI) was held today at the complex of FCI, FSD, Sawombung.
The function was attended by Olympian and former General Manager of FCI, Regional Office Imphal Kshetrimayum Thoiba Singh and FCI, DO, Imphal Divisional Manager Adani Mahrili Mao as the chief guest and president respectively.
Speaking on the sideline of the event, Adani Mahrili expressed contentment that the concerted efforts of the staff at the Divisional Office, FCI, Imphal and at the eight Food Storage Depots under FCI, DO, Imphal has made remarkable achievements.
He asserted that the FCI has received a total of 62 rakes/94190 MT at Jiribam Railhead and has been further transported to other FCI Depots of the State in the year 2022 .
"The stocks received from Dimapur/Nagaland summed up to 165976 MT.
A total of 27774.084 MT stock has been distributed widely through the State under various schemes, including NFSA, PMGKAY and other welfare schemes such as FRK-Rice in 2022", the Divisional Manager added.
He also claimed that a quantity of 2, 75, 247.23 metric tonnes of rice has been distributed to the beneficiaries of the State under the Government of India's flagship scheme PMGKAY (I to VII).
Highlighting that a total of 62812 MT Storage Capacity is being utilized fbr storing the stock received which is almost six times the requirement for NFSA monthly allocation, Adani Mahrili went on to inform that the FCI has successfully ensured food security to the whole State during the COVID-19 pandemic through PMGKAY and NFSA.
He added that the distribution of FRK-Rice with added Vitamins, Iron and other micronutrients has also been initiated under PM-POSHAN (erstwhile Mid-Day Meal), WBNP (ICDS) and NFSA in Chandel District as a part of the Government of India's Welfare Schemes.
A tree plantation programme was also conducted inside the premises of the FCI, FSD, Sawombung as part of the event.
