13th State Level Louroi Festival kicks off

The 13th Louroi Festival, which is being organised by Louroi Festival Observation Committee (LFOC) has begun from Saturday at Social Standard Club (SSC) ground, Khurai Nandeibam Leikai.
The inaugural function of the three-day festival was attended by Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd chairman and Lamlai MLA Khongbantabam Ibomcha; LFOC chairman L Nabakishore; MOMA project director K Devdutta Sharma; AIR Imphal head of programme A Gitchandra Sharma; additional SP (Retd) BK Binod Ranjan; Imphal West Upa Adakshya L Boby Devi; Horticulture & Soil Conservation Bishnupur district officer S Sushila Chanu; Hiyangthang ZP member Shila Shana Sarangthem; Waiton GP pradhan P Surbala Devi; ICAR Imphal Region assistant technical officer S Sanjay Singh; Khongman GP pradhan M Nungshirei Devi; Thongju Part I GP pradhan Lata Thongbam; Nongren Chingnungkhok GP pradhan, M Bilashini; Thongju Part II GP pradhan N Kananbala Devi; Khurai Khaidem Leikai GP pradhan Mukta Rk; Nilakuthi GP pradhan Thongbam Rokshini; and Khurai Nandeibam Leikai GP pradhan Y Chitra Devi as presidium members.
Speaking at the function, MLA Ibomcha acknowledged the different initiatives taken up by various patriotic organisations for the protecting and promotion of the indigenous communities by conducting historically related events.
However, it is unfortunate to witness factions and conflicts among the organisations that claimed to be working for the development of the society.
If there is any misunderstanding between them, then they should iron out the differences instead of giving disturbances to one another, he added.
While stating that it is the duty and responsibility of Meitei to develop and promote Meitei, Ibomcha continued that every community has the responsibility to develop Manipur.
