NAPSA, Kha Imphal and IBSA, Yumnam Leikai triumphed in the 6 th MNCA plate tournament matches today.
At Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, NAPSA Kha Imphal notched up a huge 141 run victory against OSCAR, Paona bazar for the first Group A win in as many as three matches.
NAPSA won the toss and opted to bat first.
Thanks to an unbeaten 53-ball 64 by Tongbram Dhanakuber, NAPSA posted a lowly total of 199 runs for 7 in 40 overs after top order implode and rode on Ksh Chingkhei's 4 wicket haul to skittle OSCAR out for 58 runs within 20.1 overs for the unexpected win.
NAPSA faced a tough time early and were reduced to 59 for 3 in 14.5 overs as Bipin Singh Ningthoujam (14) fell to Permeshwor, Rojer Wahengbam (23) fell to Nongmaithem Bijendro and Bijaykaran Yumnam (6) was bowled out by Telem Sushilkumar.
OSCAR's Robin Irengbam then swept three wickets back to back dismissing- Sengtung (13), Okendro on golden duck and Richard Kshetrimayum (27) to break the back of the NAPSA middle order and forced the team struggle at 127 for 6 in 29.5 overs.
However Robin's feat did little effect as Tongbram Dhanakuber found the fence 5 time including 4 fours and 1 six on the way to his unbeaten 64 and helped recover the innings with Chingkhei Singh Kshetrimayum who played second fiddle and also remained unbeaten on 26 to take the tally to 199 runs for 7 in their innings.
Khruso of OSCAR also picked a wicket in this innings before their chase faltered badly and succumbed at 58 as Ksh Chingkhei wreaked havoc across the batting line and finished with a four wicket haul (4/8 in 3.1 overs).
OSCAR had a big jolt in the chase as Rocky Yumnam bowled Nongmaithem Bijendro out for a duck before T Dhanakuber trapped Khruso lbw for 5 in the fourth over to make it 8 for 2 in 3.3 overs.
Rocky then completed his two wicket haul trapping T Amaijit lbw for 5 runs in the 11th over before Bipin Singh removed S Samson for 15 in the next over.
Chingkhei Singh Kshetrimayum then took four wickets to completely halt the chase and walked away with the man of the match accolade.
Elsewhere in a Group B league match at Langthabal Public Ground, IBSA bowled out KIYC, Kshetrigao for 112 runs in 28 overs and took 29.3 overs to reach the target with four wickets left to spare.
It was the second win of IBSA in three matches after the opening game loss to YWC Patsoi.
IBSA's Karan Prajapati was in red hot form today as he enjoyed a five-for spilling 31 runs in 8 overs to keep KIYC innings in check including the first wicket as he caught and bowled Md Farhat for 6-ball 1 in the third over.
Rajababu then got rid of Geetchandra Moirangthem (21) and Md Abdul Hamid (29) to break a partnership which started to pose a threat.
KIYC slipped to 77 for 4 in 17.4 overs as Md Kaosar was run out before Karan Prajapati and Kangabam Ramananda (2/15 in 5 overs) combined well to rip through the batting order to fold up the innings for 112 runs.
In the chase, IBSA lost Nongmeikapam Komol (6) and Rajababu (4) cheaply, but eased to the target courtesy 29 run knock by Moirangthem Sunanda and an unbeaten 35 - added by Robinson Sanasam in 29.3 overs.
Amzad Khan (2/23) and Aneesh Ahmed (2/27) did their best to apply break to the chase but it was not enough as their tally was too small to chase.
Eventually, Karan Prajapati who produced a brilliant bowling performance was adjudged man of the match.
Tomorrow, RRCC-Churachandpur will play YWC-Patsoi at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium while UCC, Uripok will take on CDC, Sagolband Salam Leikai at Langthabal Public Ground.
