Army helicopters hover on encounter site

Imphal, January 28 2014:
Army helicopters on Tuesday hovered around Kholmunlen village near Myanmar border where two personnel of 21 Assam Rifles were wounded in an attack by Manipur based People's Liberation Army (PLA) on Republic Day.
Sources in Chakpikarong Police Station, under Chandel district of Manipur, citing intelligence reports said that the Army copters were carrying out surveillance over the village in the morning.
Top Army officials were taking part in the aerial assessment of the area, they said.
A Major-rank officer and a rifleman of the 21 Assam rifles were wounded in the PLA attack on January 26.PLA is the armed wing of the proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) .
