Dimapur, January 28 2014:
Formal peace talk between the NSCN-IM and the Government of India is likely to be held in the middle of February and because of this reason NSCN-IM is going to celebrate its foundation day called 'Raising Day' on January 31 without their chairman Isak Chisi Swu and general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah at Camp Hebron, off Dimapur as the two leaders are too busy to spare their time to come back to Nagaland for the occasion.
A source disclosed that Swu and Muivah are too busy there in New Delhi as there is a likelihood of resumption of formal peace talks in the middle of February.
"So they can spare no time to come to Nagaland this time," said the source.
A separate source from Delhi informed Newmai News Network that the formal parleys between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM will be holding soon.
However, the source did not precisely mention about the date on which the peace talks would resume.
Back home here, another source from NSCM-IM set-up disclosed that within ten days, the formal talks between Delhi and the Naga outfit are likely to be held.
Meanwhile, the 33rd 'Raising Day' of NSCN-IM will be observed like every year on January 31.The source added that the convenor of NSCN-IM Steering Committee will grace the occasion.
It is worthwhile to recall here that the NSCN-IM leaders have been in New Delhi since November 19 last year to resume the talks but after a series of informal meetings conducted between the representatives of the government of India and the NSCN-IM.
However, Central interlocutor for the peace talks, RS Pandey's joining BJP to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha election and failure of the Government of India to name a new interlocutor in place of RS Pandey has created a not-so-appealing ambience.
Media reports have been speculating that the New Delhi may name as interlocutor from among the four persons namely Ajit Lal, the incumbent chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee; Lt.Gen.
(retd) RN Kapur, former Assam Police chief; G.M.Srivastava, a former special director of the Intelligence Bureau and R.N.Ravi, who retired as Intelligence Bureau special director.
