Rotary Club reaches out to Myanmar

Imphal, January 28 2014:
Responding to an invitation from the Consulate General of India at Mandalay, Myanmar with the co-operation of Sagaing region Government, Myanmar, Rotary Club of Imphal with support from Babina Diagnostic Centre and Shija Hospitals and Research Institute, successfully organised a free medical OPD camp at Kaleh General hospital on January 26, said a statement issued by the secretary of Rotary Club of Imphal today.

Altogether, 33 members including 13 doctors, five paramedics and Rotary volunteers examined a total number of 2076 patients in specialities like general medicine, general surgery, ENT, Paediatrics, eye, skin, Obs and Gynaecology with the support of doctors and nurses of Kaleh General Hospitals.
Patients were given free medicines, added the statement.
An ultra sound machine with printer, an eye vision trial set, three weighing machines and medicines were also donated to the hospital, said the statement further.
The camp was highly appreciated by one and all at Kaleh as medical facilities in the region are very limited, added the statement.
