DIG SHQ BSF visits residence of martyr at Maphou Kuki

Dinesh Singh Rawat, DIG SHQ BSF CI (Ops), Manipur along with Sonam Chhering, Commandant 29 Bn BSF today visited the residence of martyr SI Paotinsat Guite, who was awarded Kirti Chakra (posthumous) in recognition of his extreme sacrifice for the Nation.
During the visit, Dinesh Singh Rawat interacted with the family and villagers of Maphou Kuki, Kangpokpi district, said a release issued by SHQ BSF CI (Ops) Manipur.
The Sector DIF informed them about the initiatives and welfare measures/schemes undertaken by BSF, Government of India and the State in remembrance of the braveheart.
Late Paotinsat Guite, son of Tongjang Guite and Veinam Guite graduated from BSF Academy Tekanpur, Gwalior on March 9, 2019 and joined 59 Bn BSF Rajouri on April 9, 2019 .
He was posted at 3 Bump Forward Post as a platoon commander, The braveheart along with 7 others laid ambush in an area called Damakush Bowl to ensure safe movement of troops.
On December 1, 2020, the Ambush Party came under attack from the Pakistan Army which was trying to infil-trate/push into Indian soil.
Despite heavy gunfire, the braveheart and his team retaliated with great valour, displaying heroic patriotism till his last breath.
He saved the lives of his comrades and foiled the infiltration attempt by the Pakistan Army.
During the exchange of fire, he was hit by a bullet and laid down his life for the Nation.
In recognition of his valour, determination and selflessness in.
the face of imminent threat and danger, late Paotinsat Guite was awarded "Kirti Chakra" posthumously on the auspicious 76th Independence Day Celebration, 2022 .
