15-day Children Music Workshop concludes

A 15-day Children Music workshop organised by Rhythms of Manipur concluded on Saturday evening at Manipuri Jagoi Marup auditorium.
The workshop was sponsored by Department of Art & Culture and under the Chief Ministergi Artistsingee Teng-bang scheme.
Art critic Budha Chingtham, who is also the president of Cultural Workers and Activists Forum (CWAF), Rhythms of Manipur president L Manibabu Singh and Art & Culture deputy director G Dharmadas Sharma attended the closing function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Altogether 15 different artistes from different parts of the state attended the work shop which started from August 16.Speaking at the valedictory function, Budha Chingtham lauded the Rhythms of Manipur for organising the music workshop saying that it will leave positive impact on the young minds through music.
He also mentioned the importance of music on human's health and added that such music workshop will give enriched experience to the children as well as to the parents.
Addressing the gathering, Dharmadas mentioned about the importance of music towards human being and especially to the children.
He also narrated the schemes of state government which support active cultural organisations and urged the organisations to put up productive projects for assistance.
Meanwhile, Manibabu lauded the state government for supporting Rhythms of Manipur in conducting the children music workshop and in other projects and programmes for the last many years.
Rhythms of Manipur secretary Sanatomba Singh also narrated various activities of the group in association with state Art and Culture department during the last three decades.
Two officials of the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) Dimapur, invitees and parents of the workshop attended the closing function.
A music performance showcased by workshop participants including six girls for about 25 minutes was the main highlight of the closing function.
