Two KEDO volunteers who aced HSLCE feted

Imphal, August 21 2022:
Two volunteers of Kanglei Economic Development Organisation (KEDO), who recently passed the HSLC exam while working on the side, helping the women vendors of the market and guarding their goods at night, were felicitated by Lamlong Keithel Phambi Apunba Nupi Lup in a simple function held at the temporary market shed of Lamlong Keithel on Sunday.
The two volunteers are Kh Sureshkumar s/o Kharibam Shyam of Uchiwa Mayai Leikai and L Bitankumar s/o Longjam Joykumar of Sabungkhok Makha Leikai.
They were presented with cash awards and simple gifts.
Kh Sureshkumar, a student of Thounaojam Ibobi Memorial English School, Uchiwa passed the HSLC exam in first division.
His father Shyam works as a mason and Sureshkumar joined KEDO to assist his family.
He is presently studying in Class XI (science stream) at Johnstone Higher Secondary School, while also working at Imoinu Ima Keithel.
Sureshkumar wants to join the National Defence Academy and become an army officer.
Longjam Bitankumar, a student of Tongou High School, Yaingangpokpi passed in third division.
His father is also a volunteer of KEDO and both father and son work at Lamlong Keithel.
Bitankumar is studying in Class XI (science stream) at Moirangpurel Panam Higher Secondary School and wants to get a job after completing Class XII.
Speaking on the occasion, Lamlong Keithel Phambi Apunba Nupi Lup president RK Dhanapati expressed that the vendors are able to earn their income with the support of KEDO volunteers, who play a key role in the society.
She then said that the function was organised to encourage the KEDO volunteers to become successful people in the future.
