Jiribam, May 27 2022: A joint team of Jiribam units of AMSU, MSF, DESAM and KSA conducted a drive against expired packaged food items at Jiri Keithel on Friday and seized scores of expired food items.

Informing media persons about the drive at MSF Jiribam District Committee office, Babupara, DESAM District Council Jiribam president Laishram Bilaksh Meetei said that many packaged food items without expiry date and expired food items were found on sale at different shops opened at Jiri Keithel but the department concerned is remaining silent.

While appealing to shop owners not to sell food items without expiry date, Bilaksh also appealed to people not to purchase expired or expiry date less food items.

He also said that the drive will continue in different parts of Jiribam district.

The press conference was also attended by AMSU Jiribam president Thanil Thokchom, MSF Jiribam president A Ratan and KSA Jiribam president Ch Achou.
