Imphal, June 18 2026:
MLA Nishikant Sapam has asserted that all the people of Manipur should uphold the State's integrity and refrain from doing anything which may hurt or offend another community.
The MLA representing Keishamthong Assembly Constituency joined hundreds of people in offering floral tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of Manipur's integrity in 2021 at Kekrupat here today.
Nishikant said that the Kekrupat Memorial is an undying testimony of how the people of Manipur have been protecting the State's integrity even at the cost of their own lives.

"Each and every one of us should always protect the integrity of Manipur and refrain from doing anything which may harm or undermine the integrity of Manipur", he said.
Asserting that all the people living together in the land are Manipuris, Nishikant underscored the need for all the communities to come together in order to resolve all the burning issues.
He said that the issues surrounding the demand for granting Scheduled Tribe status to the Meiteis under the Constitution of India and the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms Act can be addressed through dialogue and consultation with the Government.
Nishikant Sapam asserted that Manipur has all the attributes to be declared as a Hill State.
It is not desirable for communities to create exclusive domains and restrict inter-community movement and interaction.
Unrestricted interaction and movement to each other's areas will best serve the interest of everyone in Manipur, he further observed.
It is imperative to restore mutual trust and confidence among the communities and let police and Government officials dispense with their duties unhindered and without disturbance from anyone.
Only then, there will be peace and progress in the society, he further said.
