Imphal, June 18 2026:
In a humanitarian gesture, locals of Awang Leikinthabi donated relief materials to Konsakhul residents who have been taking refuge at Makhan Village due to violent aggression by Kuki militants today.
The materials were distributed by volunteers of Modern Youth Club, Awang Leikinthabi Meira Paibi and Leikinthabi Development Committee by visiting Makhan.
Speaking to the media, Makhan Village secretary Lungan Abonmai said that only seven Liangmai villagers remain in Saikul Sub-Division in Kangpokpi, which has 150 villages.
|
Saying that the Liangmai people have become a minority in Saikul, he added that they have not received adequate assistance even from block offices, let alone the Deputy Commissioner's office.
He urged the State Government to look into the matter and take necessary action.
