Steady rise in Covid cases recorded with 22 more 79 cases added from Jun 30 to Jul 6

Imphal, July 06 2022:
The virus that causes COVID-19 appears to have made a steady comeback with 22 people testing positive in the last 24 hours.
The 22 positive cases were detected while testing 270 samples to peg the daily positivity rate at 8.1 percent.
The 22 new cases, all from the general population, were detected while testing at JNIMS (2) and other testing centres (20) .
The 22 positive cases are drawn from Imphal East (5), Imphal West (11), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Senapati (2), Chandel (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
This is the highest number of positive cases recorded in July this year.
On June 30 Manipur recorded 4 new cases, on July 1, 4 new cases, 7 cases on July 2, 16 cases on July 3, 9 cases on July 4, 17 cases on July 5 and 22 cases on July 6 .
The number of active cases has now gone up to 79, all from the general population and all the 79 cases were added from June 30 to July 6 .
From June 30 till July 6, a total of 79 new cases have been detected.
With the addition of 22 more cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State is now 1,37,345 including 5014 Central security personnel.
On the other hand, five persons were discharged in the last 24 hours, all from home isolation and the total number of recovered cases is 1,35,146 inclusive of 5007 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate is 98.40 percent.
No new deaths due to the virus was reported in the last 24 hours and the total number of deaths remain unchanged at 2120.On July 5, a total of 3302 Covid vaccine were administered and the cumulative doses given to the people now stands at 29,72,319 including 12,61,998 second dose and 1,14,732 precautionary dose.
The Covid hospital beds at JNIMS (14) and RIMS (47) remain vacant.
A total of 147 D Type oxygen cylinders and 53 B Type oxygen cylinders were despatched to different health centres across the State.
