Myanmar man arrested

Imphal, April 20 2023:
A 32-year old Myanmar National was arrested by a team of Imphal East commandos from Lalambung Pung Makhong near Imphal Hospital last night.
Acting on an input about the presence of Myanmar Nationals at Lalambung area, a team of Imphal East commandos conducted random frisking and checking in the area after giving prior information to the Imphal West police control room.
During the frisking and checking exercise, one Myanmar National identified as Zawhein (32) s/o Zawmein of Chaungnatkyi village, Tamu Kayai, Myanmar was arrested from Lalambung Pung Makhong, near Imphal Hospital, RIMS Road at 11.25 pm.
One mobile phone and a sum of Rs 25,150 were seized from his possession.
During the preliminary interrogation, the arrested Myanmar National disclosed that he has been staying at Imphal for the last three/four months without holding any legal/valid documents.
It was also disclosed that Zawhein was hired/engaged by one Thangsei, aged about 50 years, from Moreh.
Acting on the guidance and advice of Thangsei, Zawhein has been staying at Imphal and looking after sick/injured Myanmarese people by providing medical treatment at Imphal Hospital, who were sent there by Thangsei.
The arrested person has been handed over to Imphal police station along with the seized items for taking up further necessary legal action.
