MLA's scheme aids first beneficiary

Kshetrigao MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan's health protection mission scheme provided its first assistance to a 46-year-old woman for her gall bladder surgery.
The beneficiary, Memcha Begum, underwent surgery at Care and Cure Hospital, Lamphel Sanakeithel recently.
The MLA visited the hospital on Friday and met the patient, who is recuperating from the surgery.
Interacting with the media, Noorul Hassan said that he launched the scheme to assist people of his constituency and Memcha Begum has become the first beneficiary to avail benefit of the scheme.
Her surgery to remove stone from gall bladder completed successfully, he said.
Even though she was diagnosed with gall bladder stone about 10 years back, she has not been able to get the surgery due to her family's financial position, he said and added that he feels happy to help her.
Maximum number of people in his constituency belongs to poor families and they are in no condition to afford the treatment cost of such ailments, which goes up to Rs 70,000, he said and expressed confidence that he will be able to help them through the scheme.
He then appealed to the people of his constituency to opt for the platinum card if possible by paying Rs 2000 annually so that they do not have to worry about any medical treatment in their lives.
