Traffic police conduct drive

The Traffic Control Wing on Friday conducted drives in various areas of Imphal city to ensure strict adherence to traffic rules and prevent accidents.
During the drive, different teams of the Wing cracked down on traffic violations including clamping wheels of vehicles parked illegally along RIMS road and Singjamei Bazar, and also fined several violators.
The team also detained and fined two-wheel riders along North AOC who were found not wearing helmets.
Speaking in this regard, SP Traffic Ajitkumar informed that the drive was carried out with the aim of saving the life of the citizens, especially with the rising number of vehicles on the road, which has also increased occurrence of accidents.
Appealing to the people to two-wheel riders to wear helmets and mandatory fastening of seatbelts by four-wheelers operators including heavy vehicle, he also urged the drivers to park their vehicles at the designated sites to avoid inconveniencing the public.
He further appealed to the people to obey traffic rules to keep not only their life safe but that of others as well.
