Edibles provided, old age home assessed

A team of BJP Ma-nipur Pradesh led by its president A Sharda Devi and intending BJP candidate from Khangabok assembly constituency Thokchom Jadumani on Friday visited the Senior Citizens' Home (old age home) at Wangbal under Khangabok AC and distributed edibles along with checking the condition of the home.
Speaking at the programme organised by BJP Khangabok Mandal as part of 'Seva Aur Samarpan Abhiyan' in connection with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 71st birthday and 20 years of public service which is being carried out from September 17 to October 7, Jadumani informed that the programme was organised to take care of elders and destitute as PM Modi wishes.
He also assured of continuing to look after the needs of the home and the elderly residents.
Meanwhile, A Sharda stated that the party works for the welfare of weaker sections of society all the time and not just when elections are round the corner while reminding all concerned that chief minister N Biren has been cautioning that the government will deal firmly with people who abuse elderly citizens and parents.
The programme was also attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary Langpoklakpam Deben, Thoubal District president Yumnam Kumarjit, Khangabok Mandal president L Tomba Khuman and other members.
