Imphal, September 24 2021:
Some people belonging to economically sound families think of having sound sleep when rain comes but it would be contradictory for some people belonging to unfortunate and poverty-stricken families living in improper houses with hollow roof.
National People's Party (NPP) Manipur unit general secretary and former candidate Ch Bijoy was shocked when he saw a dwelling house in an awfully bad condition at Tera Sadokpam Leikai under Patsoi assembly constituency.
Upon getting report from locals about abject poverty of the family, Ch Bijoy along with his workers visited the family of Leitongbam Ranjit Singh on Friday and handed over GI sheet for fresh roofing of the house.
He also promised to bear the entire cost of engaging labour for fresh roofing arid renovation of the house.
Upon learning that electric connection to Leitongbam Ranjit's house had been cut off as the family could not pay bill amounting to around Rs 4,000 sometimes back, Bijoy told media persons that he will clear the dues and reconnect power for the family which is surviving on meagre income of around Rs 200 daily earned by Ranjit's eldest son Herojit by working at nearby brickfield.
