MKS calls for quality construction along NH

Maralui Karalimei Swijoikang (Maram Students' Union/MKS), Senapati has appealed to companies involved in the construction of the national highway to follow the standards and specifications laid down by the Ministry.
According to an MKS release, Leck-on Company is carrying out four-lane construction work along the Tumuyon Khullen stretch of NH-2 in Maram area, while Ram Ram and CSR Companies are taking up the work of double-laning the stretch of Maram-Peren Road of NH-129A .
It stated that MKS in its 1st Federal Assembly held on September 11 at Tumuyon Khullen had viewed the ongoing mega projects, which came very rarely, as a gift from the Government of India to the people, adding, "As such, MKS felt that it has become moral responsibility of the local people to ensure maximum support and cooperation to the implementing agencies wherever the ongoing work takes place" .
"As initial quality work will lead to subsequent quality result of the works, MKS appealed to the companies to maintain quality workmanship by giving priority on durability of the road and ensure timely completion of mega projects," the release further said.
The Maram students' body then said that with the support of local youth and students bodies, "MKS shall monitor and visit sites of construction, from time to time to see that no stone is left unturned for irregularities and anomalies to take place as.
MKS views that once the construction is completed, working agencies will abandon the place but it is the people who will inherit the quality and standard of the works left behind".
"Further, keeping in mind that Government of India and state government have sanctioned the ongoing mega projects for welfare of the people, inconveniences caused to personnel of the working agency shall not be tolerated af any cost," it cautioned.
