Minister urged to penalise 5 urea dealers

All Manipur Fertilizer Dealers' Welfare Association has urged the agriculture minister to take action against five dealers, who transported 500 metric tonnes of urea without informing the authority in the amidst of persisting urea shortage problem.
In a written complaint submitted in this regard to agriculture minister Th Biswajit, president Y Iboyaima and secretary Y Modhuchandra said that Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation limited (BVFCL) allocated two racks having 40 percent urea to 25 dealers.
However, five dealers transported 500 metric tonnes of urea without giving any information to authority concerned or dealers.
The five dealers namely Karan agency, L Meghachandra, Th Surjit, Y Amarjit and Th Surchandra illegally transported 100 metric tonnes of urea each, the complaint said and urged the department to take action against them and not to entertain them in the next allocation.
