Thoubal, August 22 2022:
Students of Sangaiyumpham Higher Secondary School boycotted normal classes and organised a protest in front of the school on Monday to register their protest against transfer of teachers from the school, which is already facing issues of teaching staff shortage.
Rubiya, one of the students, told media persons that the government is giving step motherly treatment to the school even though the government is claiming to promote its School Fagat-hansi Mission.
She demanded the government to fill up the vacant posts of teaching staff of the school at the earliest.
Muslim Students' Development Organisation, Sangaiyumpham general secretary Imtiaz said that the organisation had already raised multiple complaints to the government regarding the staff shortage and made repeated appeals for filling up the vacant posts.
Instead of resolving the issue, the government recently transferred some teachers from the school without considering the fate of the students.
Demanding the authority to fill up the vacant posts of teaching and non-teaching staff by August 29, he warned of launching different forms of agitation if the government fails to honour their demand.
