RNYOM clarifies

Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation Manipur (RNYOM) has clarified that the recent press statement issued by RNYO (AM&N) regarding Joint Co-ordinating Committee (JCC) of 12 organisations & students bodies was baseless and misleading.
In a release, Nicholas Gonmei, president RNYOM informed that he attended the meeting of the 12 Tribal Civil Society Organisations and Student bodies held on July 23, 2022 .
"After thorough deliberation on the defunct like situation of TRI Manipur, the said 12 Tribal CSOs and student bodies were fully aware of the matter and endorsed the necessity of forming JAC on Tribal Research Institute, Manipur and its functioning", it added.
RNYOM stated that all the leaders of the said 12 student bodies unanimously decided to form the JAC on Tribal Research Institute, Manipur and its functioning in the interest of the tribal people.
"I, Nicholas Gonmei also represented as one of the founding members & co-convenors of the JCC and I am still the co-convenor of the JCC.
I will work in the JCC at my level best without compromising the integrity and dignity of RNYOM", it added.
The student body also informed the public and leaders of JCC of 12 CSOs and student bodies that the misleading press statement was not issued by RNYOM.
"Further, request the apex body of Rongmei youth to abstain the demand of apology from JCC which is purely a mistake on the part of RNYOM representative while submitting the Organisational nomenclature", it asserted.
The student body further stated that henceforth only RNYOM will be represented in the JCC.
