Award winner children felicitated

A felicitation function for Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar awardees was held at Manipur State Bal Bhawan on Friday with social welfare minister Heikham Dingo Singh as chief guest, ICDS joint director Bantee Konthoujam as functional president and social welfare joint director Jitesor Keisham as guest of honour respectively.
Addressing the gathering, minister H Dingo Singh congratulated the two Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar awardees (2021-2022), namely Venish Keisham and Daulas Lambamayum (art & culture).
While stating that the Social Welfare department has been implementing various schemes for all-round development of the society, he stressed the need for proper guidance of the children by both teachers and parents so as to ensure that talented children taste success in different fields.
The minister also called upon the parents and teachers to support and advise students in their learning for a peaceful and better society.
As a part of the programme, H Dingo also inaugurated a model marketing workshop which will be conducted for five days.
During the function, certificates and prizes were distributed to the position holders of online slogan and photography competition held as a part of National Girl Child Day, 2022.In all, 29 children were chosen for this year's Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar.
They were awarded in the six fields of innovation, scholastic achievements, sports, art and culture, social service and bravery.
Each child was given medal, certificate and cash prize of Rs 1 lakh each.
The felicitation programme organised by the Social Welfare Department was also attended by officials of medical department, parents and students.
