Reacting against the attitude of the central government and the AR personnel in connection with the ethnic violence in the state, protest agita-tions continued at Hiyan-glam Wabagai Lamkhai with many people taking part in the agitation on Thursday.
As part of the agita-tion launched under the initiative of Yelhoumee Kanba Lup Hiyanglam, Wabagai, Keirak, people came out to the streets shouting slogans like "The territorial integrity of Manipur cannot be de-stroyed", "There can be no separate administrations in Manipur", "Remove Assam Rifles from the state" and "Abrogate SoO pact with Kuki militants".
They also demanded that the government make its stand clear to the people, Kuki militants should be declared as terrorist and the SoO agreement be ab-rogated and AR removed from the state along with giving additional powers to the state forces.
Speaking on the side-lines of the protest agita-tion, a woman protestor expressed strong resent-ment over silence of PM Narendra Modi.
Moreover, Amit Shah's false promise to the people of Manipur that the violence would be put to an end is condem-nable.
"It is also very un-fortunate that the chief minister N Biren has also not spoken a word over the rehabilitation process for the displaced people taking shelter in various relief camps.
The gov-ernment should make its stand known to the public at the earliest," she added.
