Transport Workers' Federation floated

Imphal, July 05 2022:
A convention of road transport workers of Manipur was organised at the auditorium of AMUCO, Kwakeithel here on Tuesday.
During the convention, which was attended by All Manipur Petroleum Tanker Drivers' Union (AMPTDU) president Bhupenchandra Ghosh and Manipur Government Services' Federation (MGSF) vice president L Sarat as presidium members, a full-fledged All Manipur Road Transport Workers' Federation was also floated.
Speaking on the occasion, C1TU Manipur secretary Kshetrimayum Shanta informed that the Federation was formed with the goal of strengthening unity among the road transport workers in the state and also to participate in the labour movement of the world.

MGSF vice president L Sarat stated that it is MGSF's wish to resolve all issues faced by transport workers while AMTPDU president Bhupenchandra Ghosh said that the most responsible and discipline force in the country are farmers, drivers and the army.
Thus, we should treat the drivers with love and care, he stressed.
During the convention, All Manipur Road Transport Workers' Federation was formed along with an Organising Committee with Kshetrimayum Shanta as convenor.
The delegates for the 11th National Conference of All India Road Transport Workers' Fed eration, scheduled to be held from July 16 to 18, were also selected on the occasion.
