Imphal, March 23 2022:
Former MLA of Lilong AC Yumkhaibam Antas Khan has charged newly elected MLA Md Abdul Nasir of allegedly trying to prevent BJP candidates from winning in Muslim-dominated constituencies during the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
Speaking to newspersons on Wednesday, Antas accused MLA Abdul Nasir of not only portraying BJP as an anti-Muslim party but using religion to influence Muslim voters of Moirang, Kshetrigao, Kakching, Wangoi, Thoubal, and Khangabok constituencies.
Both the chief minister and the BJP should take serious note of this matter, he said, while conveying that Lilong denizens are waiting to see how the MLA plans to develop the constituency without the support of BJP.
The ex-MLA then expressed his elation over BJP's victory in the recent polls and the re-election of CM N Biren for the second term.
He then extended warm greetings to the new government and its ministers, while wishing for a peaceful and prosperous Manipur.
Antas then hoped that although BJP lost Lilong AC by a narrow margin, the new government would see to the developmental requirements of the constituency.
