12th Assembly's first session begins today

The first session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly would commence tomorrow and it would continue for three days.
Ahead of the commencement of the Assembly session, Th Satyabrata, elected from Yaiskul AC, may be elected as the next Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Biren has announced that the BJP-led Government would not form internal alliance with any political party except the Naga People's Front (NPF) .
Till 12 noon today which was the last hour for submission of notice of motion for election of a new Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, only BJP's Th Satyabrata submitted notice of motion.

As no other MLA submitted notice of motion, Satyabrata is most likely to be elected as the Speaker tomorrow.
On the other hand, Chief Minister N Biren has categorically stated that BJP would not form internal alliance with any political party except NPF.
Biren, nonetheless, said that he would welcome all the parties which extend external support to his new Government.
The Chief Minister distributed sweets and snacks to the women vendors of Khwairamband markets today in celebration of the absolute majority secured by BJP in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda also took part in the celebration.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the celebration, Biren conveyed that they have been informed about NPP's intention to support the BJP-led Government.
However, there is no question of forming any internal political alliance except with NPF, Biren said.
Even though BJP would welcome external support extended by all other political parties, no ministerial portfolio would be given to them, Biren asserted.
On expansion of his Ministry, the Chief Minister said that the Council of Ministers would be expanded after the Assembly session which starts tomorrow is over.
