Dr W Motilal no more; deaths condoled

Former medical director of Family Welfare Dr Wahengbam Motilal.
who was also the first neurosurgeon of Manipur, passed away at his Nongmeibung Chakpram Leikai residence on Wednesday morning due to an ailment.
He was 75 .
Dr Motilal is survived by his wife Hemabati, son Dr W Tulsidas and two daughters.
Dr Motilal completed his MBBS from CMC Vellore in 1967 and MCh in Neurosurgery from NIMHANS, Bangalore in 1982.He helped established the Department of Neurosurgery at JN Hospital, Porompat and was later promoted to the post of Medical Superintendent.
He was the brainchild behind establishing JNIMS, Porompat and had christened it to JNIMS from JN hospital.
After retirement, he joined Raj Medicity and continued to work there till November, 2016 .
Meanwhile, Indian Medical Association, Manipur State Branch (IMA-MSB) has extended deepest condolences over the sudden and untimely demise of Dr W Motilal, one of its senior members, a release by IMA-MSB honorary secretary Dr Ng Arunkumar Singh conveyed.
According to the release, the Association organised a 'Condolence Meeting' at IMA Hall, Lamphel on Wednesday and observed a one-minute silence in honour of the departed soul.
Meanwhile, staff of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) condoled the sudden demise of Lairenmayum Somananda, who used to work as manifold boy at JNIMS.
A release informed that the teaching and non-teaching staff of JNIMS held a condolence meeting and observed a two-minute silence in honour of the departed soul.
On the other-hand, Home Films, Manipur on Wednesday extended deepest condolence over the sudden demise of its advisor Longjam ongbi Thokchom Kamala Leima (58), following a road mishap.
It also shared the grief of the bereaved family members, a statement by Home Films, Manipur secretary Ranjit Ningthouja conveyed.
