Imphal, March 23 2022:
CPI Manipur State Council remembered the hanging of Saheed Bhagat Singh on Wednesday during a commemorative event held at Bira memorial hall of Irawat Bhawan, Imphal and paid homage to the late freedom fighter by offering rich floral tributes.
Regarding the commemorative function, CPI Manipur state council assistant secretary M Jaykumar said that Saheed Bhagat Singh raised the voice of socialism in India for the first time and it is improper for the present Prime Minister of the country who is trying to remove the word socialism from the Constitution to remember the late freedom fighter.
He also said that Bhagat Singh raised 'Inquilab Zindabad' for the first time in the country.
Comrade Ibobi also said that CPI shouldered responsibility for protection of socialism in India and party's responsibility is being honoured by political parties which believe in the principle of secularism like Congress.
However, the present BJP government dictated by RSS does not honour the tenets of Constitution.
While condemning the murder of a girl by her own lover after elopement, Ibobi condemned such heinous crime and demanded befitting punishment of the killer.
