TCMDC, RCA, MPSC win in Superplate cricket

Imphal, March 23 2022:
TCMDC (Thongju), RCA (Lilong) and MPSC (Central Jail) emerged the victors in Wednesday's matches of the 1st MNCA Superplate Tournament.
TCMDC registered a 3-wicket win over ESU (Wangkhei) at Langthabal Public Ground.
The Thongju side opted to held first and skittled out their opponents for 119 in 37.3 overs with the help of Thongam Tuljit, who finished with a haul of 3 wickets, Suraj Kharibam (2 wkts), Kongbrailatpam Kalyan (2), Laishram Vivekananda (1), Huirongbam Babulu (1) and Pukhrambam Paikhombajeet Meitei (1) .
In ESU's innings, Oliver, who scored 35, was the only bright spot for the Wangkhei side.
In response, TCMDC took 32.1 overs to achieve the target courtesy of Suraj Kharibam (26), Laishram Vivekananda (19 not out), Pukrambam Paikhomba (19), Khundrakpam Bijesh (14) and Leihaothabam Tondon (13) .
The team lost 7 wickets in their run chase.
For ESU, Chongtham Mehul Shreth picked 3 wickets, Hemchand Yumkham claimed 2, and Chitaranjan Sharma and Oinam Motilal accounted for 1 each in a losing cause.
Suraj Kharibam was named man of the match.
RCA, meanwhile, inflicted a heavy 9-wicket defeat on SDC (Laipham Khunou) at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Aziz Mirza wreaked havoc on SDC's batting order as his lethal 8-over spell earned him 5 wickets, helping the Lilong squad wipe out SDC in 20.4 overs after the Laipham Khunou side opted to bat first.
Bm Sabakhan, Md Aqeel, Naesh Hussain and Md Illiyas Khan chipped jin with a wicket apiece for RCA.
After bowling out their opponents for a meagre total, RCA needed just 6.5 overs to knock off the target with Aziz Mirza scoring 22 as Zamir Khan (16 not out) and Syed Hussain (6 not out) guided their team to an emphatic win.
In the process, RCA lost their lone wicket to Maibam Suraj.
Aziz Mirza earned the man-of-the-match trophy.
In other match, MPSC defeated KASC by 62 runs at Oriental College Ground.
Put in to bat, MPSC garnered 212/6 in the stipulated 40 overs.
Soubam Kingson shone with an unbeaten 52 off 24 balls, Gelson Thoudam hit 57/89 and Potsangbam Bonem made (45/74) in their innings.
MPSC then took 33.4 overs to bundle out KASC for a comprehensive win as Md Ali Karim's fighting 49 went in vain.
Oinam Rojit and Sarangthem Shangker bowled well to finish with 3 wickets each as Soubam Kingson bagged 2 wickets to help MPSC collect full points.
Soubam Kingson walked away with the man-of-the-match award.
