Three arrested with WY tablets, heroin

In continuation of its anti-drug drive, a team of Bishnupur District Police Commando apprehended a man with 421gm of WY tablets on Wednesday around 2.25 pm.
The arrested man has been identified as Haominthang Haokip (20) s/o Thangboi Haokip of Songdo village, Churachandpur.
According to a police report, a team of the district commando carried out checking and frisking operation in Pholjang Bazar area along Gothon road on Wednesday afternoon during while suspicious looking man was detained for frisking consequently leading to recovery of around 20 blue-coloured packets containing WY tablets.
The tablets weighed around 421 gm in total.
Both the arrested man and the seized drugs have been handed over to Moirang PS for further legal action, the report conveyed.
Meanwhile, Kakching district commando arrested a man and a woman with drugs worth Rs 5.1 crore in international market on March 21.The arrested duo has been identified as Thangminlun Mate (24) son of Doungam Mate of Moreh Chikim village, Tengnoupal district and M Hoineithing Haokip (38) wife of M Jangminlen Haokip of Moreh ward number 8 Ngamkai Veng.
Speaking to media persons in this regard Kakching SP Shrey Vats informed that Kakching district commando along with women constables led by OC inspector Md Abash conducted frisking and checking at Heikakpokpi around 11.30 am.
During the checking, a black Bolero (NL 08-2061) coming from Pallel side was signalled to stop for frisking.
However, the vehicle fled from the scene, but the security team managed to intercept it at Kakching Lamkhai.
Upon checking, it was found that the fuel tank of the vehicle was modified in a strange way.
With the help of a mechanic, the fuel tank was opened and found 1.058 kg of heroin and 30,000 WY tablets.
The arrested duo along with the seized items has been handed over to Kakching police station for further necessary actions, the SP added.
