KLAM celebrates 21st foundation day

Kangleipak Loinasillon Apunba Marup (KLAM), Imphal, an organisation of Manipuri writers to promote the literature of the state, celebrated its 21st foundation day at Manipur Press Club, here, on Thursday.
As part of the celebration, authors Sarat Salam was awarded the "Haobam Sanajaoba (Haoba) Loinasillon Ningsing Mana 2022' for his book 'Adungeigi Masana Sing" and Mutum Ramani with "Leishangthem Somananda Loinasillon Ningsing Mana 2022" for her poetry compendium "Karamna Themgani" .
Nine other authors (both male and female) who are recipients of various literary awards were also felicitated during the celebration by presenting gifts.
Speaking at the programme, Patsoi MLA Sapam Kunjakeshwor (Keba) highlighted the role of writers in shaping a better society.
Stating that people depend on books for references, Kunjakeshore pointed out need to regard the writers of the state.
Expressing confidence that the Manipuri community can shine throughout the world if developmental works can be completed on time, Kunjakeshore appealed to the public to be punctual in their respective works.
The programme was also attended by Bishnupur Higher Secondary School former principal Wahengbam Hemabati and KLAM president Thiyam Silleim Leima.
