Budget Session of state assembly from Feb 21

Imphal, February 09 2023:
The third session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly, which was prorogued after two days' sitting on February 2 and 3, will resume from February 21 as Budget Session.
The decision to resume the assembly session from February 21 was arrived at during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of Manipur Legislative Assembly convened on Thursday from 11am.The meeting also attended by leader of the House chief minister N Biren and other members decided to hold the Budget Session till March 3.The first sitting of the Budget Session on February 21 will have question & answer and presentation of budget estimates for the year 2022-23 while the sitting on February 22 will have discussion on supplementary demand for grants for the year 2022-23 and budget estimate for the year 2023-24.The sitting on February 23 will discuss demands of grants for departments like state legislature, council of ministers, secretariat, transport, education, corporation, sericulture and water resources.
The Manipur Appropriation (No 1) Bill, 2023 will be discussed and passed on the same day.
The sitting on February 24 will have question & answer, discussion and voting on demands for departments like information & publicity, labour & employment, tribal affairs and hills development, science & technology and information technology.
The sitting on February 25 will have discussion and voting on demands for departments like police, PWD, vigilance & anti-corruption, fire protection and control, jails, home guards and economics & statistics.
There will be no sitting on February 26 on account of being Sunday while on February 27 question & answer and it will be followed by discussion and voting on demands for departments like medical, health & family welfare services, MAHUD, CAF & PD, agriculture, animal husbandry and veterinary including dairy farming, community & rural development and planning.
The sitting on February 28 will have question & answer followed by discussion and voting on demands for departments like PHED, administration of justice, rehabilitation, MI, fisheries, art & culture and social welfare.
The sitting on March 1 will have question & answer followed by discussion and voting on demands for departments like land revenue, stamps & registration, district administration, finance, textiles, commerce & industries, YAS, state excise, sales tax, other taxes-duties on commodities and services, stationery & printing and state academy of training.
The sitting on March 2 will have question & answer followed by discussion and voting on demands for departments like environment & forest, Panchayat, horticulture & soil conservation, tourism, MOBC & SC and relief & disaster management.
The Manipur Appropriation (No 2) Bill, 2023 will also be tabled in the House on the same day and passed it.
