DC Thoubal reviews inter-departmental schemes/projects

Thoubal deputy commissioner A Subhash Singh on Thursday chaired an inter-departmental meeting and reviewed various schemes and projects taken up by departments concerned in the district.
During the meeting held at the conference hall of his office, DC Subhash stated that the meeting was organised with the aim for better coordination among departments towards achieving optimal utilisation and implementation of schemes.
He pointed out that for successful implementation of e-Governance in the district, State Wide Area Network (SWAN) connectivity will be provided for the scheduled implementation of e-Office from April 1 in the district offices.
He also instructed DLOs to apprise their respective department head offices for providing computers required.
Power Point presentations were made by district level officers (DLOs) on the various schemes and projects taken up by the respective departments during the meeting.
Giving a detailed presentation regarding Unique Disability ID, Thoubal chief medical officer informed that District Medical Board (Disability) hold its meeting on 10th of every month to discuss the matter at the office chamber of CMO Thoubal.
701 UDID cards have been generated, 383 cards despatched and 719 data sent to printing agency, so far, he added.
District social welfare officer, in his presentation, highlighted various schemes in the district namely, National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme (MOAPS), Chief Ministergi Shotharabasingi Tengbang (CMST), Disable Pension Scheme, Chief Minister Widow Pension (CMWPS), Unemployment Allowance and Marriage Incentive.
Detailed reports were also presented on schemes for empowerment of persons with disabilities (PwD) namely, Care Giver Allowance/Maintenance Grant to PwDs with high support need under CMST, Disable Pension Scheme, scholarship under CMST, free travel concession under CMST and Marriage Incentive Award.
Public Health Engineering Division, in their presentation, informed that in the district, 34,126 functional water tap connections have been provided under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and New Development Bank water supply schemes, achieving a target of 80.67 per cent.
Moreover, 35 water supply schemes have been set up and the work is going on in full swing, the department stated.
After the presentations, the DC advised the CMO and ICDS officials to provide data of Health and Wellness Centres and Anganwadi Centres so that they can also avail tap water connection.
Regarding the Education Department, ZEO Thoubal stated that under the NEP 2020, coordination and convergence of various departments like ICDS is needed.
He also mentioned that under SSA, grants are being given to schools annually according to the enrolment numbers of students.
For this a detail work plan has to be put up by the schools.
Regarding the Amrit Sarovar project, the official concerned stated that 75 sites for constructing water bodies have been identified and 30 sites have been completed.
The Mission is being targeted to be completed by August 2023, the official added.
The offices of the District Fishery, Sericulture and Veterinary Office also made their respective presentations.
The DC Thoubal further instructed the district officers of Agriculture and Allied departments to exercise their power and press the banks to successfully implement Kishan Credit Cards campaign.
The meeting was also attended by ADM, AC to DC, SDO Thoubal and other DLOs of various departments.
