Police complaint registered against BJYM members

Imphal, February 09 2023:
In connection with the attack and threat on Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee member Ningthoujam Popilal allegedly by volunteers/members of Bharatiya Janata Youva Morcha (BJYM) at the main gate of Impact TV post-participation in the Manung Hutna discussion programme on Wednesday, Popilal has registered a complaint at City police station demanding action against the involved BJYM office bearers.
In the complaint submitted to City Police officer in-charge, Popilal Singh, who has been appointed as the MPYCC president, said that the incident occurred around 7.05 pm at the main gate of Impact TV and also in the building.
He was attacked and threatened by BJYM members including office bearers namely Alex Mayanglambam and Robarth Oinam at the instigation of BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesperson Sureshkumar Mayanglambam after participation in the discussion programme.
A similar incident also occurred in another media house namely IS COM wherein MPCC media panelist P Bangkimchandra Meitei was attacked, Popilal mentioned in his complaint letter and urged to take necessary action against BJYM office bearers at the earliest so as to prevent unwanted incidents.
Meanwhile, MPCC president Keisham Meghaehandra has appointed Ningthoujam Popilal as president of Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC).
An order issued on Thursday also confirmed appointment of Md Abdul Hakim and Avinash Naorem as working presidents and Mir Quashim MM as general secretary (administration) of the youth Congress.
